It was a real privilege to welcome back clients to our ‘Growing and Preserving Wealth’ seminar this year.
MM Wealth’s Chartered Financial Planner, Adrian Brown presented one of three thought-provoking talks, which included an overview on ‘financial planning with the latest tax considerations’, paying close attention to the upcoming General Election and the potential impact this may have on client wealth should Labour gain power.
We were delighted to be joined by guest speaker Hugh Gimber, Executive Director at J.P. Morgan Asset Management, who gave us a ’Guide to the Markets’ and an indication of what our clients should be considering over the next 6 to 12 months. Investor resilience, economic optimism and diversification being the watch words.
Katherine Hague, partner at HCR Hewitsons presented guests with an insightful talk on the State of the Nation, and the planning opportunities ahead of a change in Government.
Katherine was followed by her colleague, Bernadette O’Reilly, partner and Head of Private Client at HCR Hewitsons, discussing the use of Trusts for IHT planning and mitigating against potential tax liabilities when passing on wealth to family.
Thankfully, the rain stayed away for our guests to enjoy Afternoon Tea on the terrace and for those who wanted, a tour of the Jockey Club, guided by the extremely knowledgeable and enthusiastic Alan Medlock.
Thank you as always to our wonderful hosts at The Jockey Club Rooms, Newmarket for providing such a beautiful venue.
