Racing in the rain for Chariots of Fire 2024

On Sunday 22 September 2024, Team MM Wealth took part in the 31^st Chariots of Fire event, along with over 1,000 runners representing businesses and charities across Cambridge.

For those of you not familiar with this annual event, it consists of a relay team of 6 runners, who each run a c.2 miles course through the back streets of Cambridge and its Colleges, passing a baton from runner to runner that has a timing chip attached to it.

MM Wealth has taken part in this charitable event on numerous occasions with Tim Parker first taking part for MM Wealth back in 2008!  The team then ran it in 1 hour 26 minutes, so this year’s team finishing time of 1 hour 29 minutes is very respectable!  Averaging just under 15 minutes / leg, resulted in a placing of 122nd out of the 173 teams.

This year, the race was supporting the Magpas Air Ambulance charity, who provide pre-hospital emergency medicine (PHEM) 24 hours a day, 7 days a week via air or on land across East Anglia.  This charity is funded through public donations rather than being government-funded.  We are very proud to donate to this worthwhile cause.

Hopefully, next year the weather will be a little bit kinder!  We also want to thank those who braved the rain to support us running the event.  It definitely makes a difference!
